battlestations.eu - technical problems
Due to unexpected technical problems we were forced into temporary close of downloading Midway Modders Mappack 1 and 2. At this moment, from 4 files that were available, (versions for PC Windows and Apple MacOS) only one is available: Midway Modders Mappack 1 (version for PC Windows). We're working to restart the download. We hope that you will forgive us, remember that, service battlestations.eu is created by players for players, and nobody does not sponsoring us, and prepare to download such large files, however, is a problem. Once again, we apologize, we will try to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

Square Enix comes clean on cuts and closure
Today we found interesting info about developpers from Eidos Hungary [developer of the Battlestations series] and the interviews with Phil Rogers, european boss of Square Enix (they bought Eidos Company last year). There is the interesting (for us) part of this informations and interviews. That can exaplain, why official site is abandoned and spammed. Informations and interviews are taken from Develop Online.
The CEO of Square Enix Europe has braved a number of questions surrounding the publisher’s decision to cut staff at Io Interactive, virtually close a programming department at Beautiful Game Studios, and shut down operations at Eidos Hungary.
Phil Rogers sportingly took on all questions during the second half of his interview with Develop, though the first half of the Q&A session – in its broader context – was positive of the group’s recent successes and bold plans for the future.
The CEO confirmed for the first time that Square Enix had closed down its Eidos Hungary studio.

Battlestations: Midway - cruiser HMS Dorsetshire, first custom ship in game.
Long time ago we published article about our big step forward in modding Battlestations: Midway. One of our members, Gaming-for-dummies, found out how to add new maps to the game. Thanks to his work we were able to build and release free mappacks for all Battlestations: Midway fans. With mappack 2, so much different then mappack 1, it was easy to see that our modding skill is growing with new sounds, textures, and additional scripts (Kwajalein). But we always feel that, we need to do more most important we feel that we need new units, not only the ones which we can find in single player maps but brand new ones. I must say that, sometimes I lost hope in our ability to make this, me and a number of our members have visited many forums, to ask for help with breaking the code. But no help came from this direction some of these guys tried to help us, but without success. More, we contacted the developers of Midway and we have asked them for help. But "if you want something to be done good, do it yourself", some of our members started their own researching for Battlestations: Midway fileformat. I was really excited when I had a chance to watch their progress. It took us a year, and it was a really hard job. Do you know how hard it was? Try to open any picture (JPG for example) using Notepad. You will see what they needed to understand and make it work...
